Dear Lonneke,
On behalf of the whole team here at Centro de la Niña Trabajadora – CENIT (Center for the Working Girl in English), I’d like to extend our most sincere thanks. Your donation of $2,000 has enabled us to keep our twice weekly medical service running for another calendar year by allowing us to pay for the doctor´s services twice a week. Your donation will allow us to pay the doctor´s salary from July 2005 until the end of June 2006.
I apologize for the delay in thanking you formally. I wanted to prepare something a little more formal to express exactly how grateful we are. I am pleased to report that the clinic is very, very busy. The average number of patients seen in each of our weekly, three hour sessions is between 15 to 30, or between 25 and 60 a week. Without your donation, we would be unable to keep both sessions running, which means that we would have had to refuse treatment to many patients. Luckily, you were so wonderfully giving and helped us continue to provide medical services to Quito and CENIT`s poor.
In the next couple of months you will be receiving via email several clinic pictures of the doctor you have so graciously offered to finance as she is treating some of the CENIT children and parents. Also, we will take some pictures of a “typical” CENIT clinic day, so that you will be able to share with others the impact of your incredibly generous contribution. We also plan on sending clinic data, so that you can check up on our progress throughout the year!
Again, we can’t thank you enough for your donation. I hope one day you will be able to come back and visit us again and see with your own eyes the contribution you’ve made. CENIT is such a special place and your generosity is profoundly appreciated by all of us. Please let me know if you would like any additional information.
Nothing compares with the satisfaction of seeing a child recover from an illness that might have been fatal without our medical assistance. There are truly no words to express our thankfulness.

Hoi Lonneke,
Zo zie je maar weer, je hebt aan een zeer zinvol project meegewerkt en je super ingezet. Het komt op een juiste plek terecht!!!! Je bent een dijk van een meid dat je dat gedaan hebt!! En ook de andere meiden natuurlijk! Geweldig!!!!!!!!!!!!!
